Green Award for YHA

YHA have won the Best Travel Organisation category of The Independent‘s Green Awards.

As well as the obvious plaudits for Green Beacon hostels like Lockton, there’s more subtle factors – such as the Association’s recycling of old buildings into new youth hostels.

You’ll also learn why you can’t get a drink of orange juice at Earl’s Court YH.

Okay, so there’s no more tea and coffee served at Youth Hostels anymore, as none is grown in Britain, or was this Orange Juice thing just a publicity stunt for a hostel opening ?
And will YHA not welcome those who have travelled by plane or car, accepting only users of boat, train, cycle or foot, a bit like the good old days ?
    Answers please !
